The Greenway on Lake Como is a path of about 12km that crosses olive groves, meadows, towns and medieval villages. The panoramic views of Lake Como makes this trail even more impressive and unique. Most of the walk is close to the lakeside. This is generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and trail running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are April through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Starting in Griante at the base of the road leading up to San Martino Sanctuary, there are sign posts showing the route to its final destination in Colonno (don't forget you can start at either end or go there and back. Just check the ferry or bus timetables).
The trail will take you through the towns of Colonno, Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo and Griante. Great opportunities to post photos to our Facebook page and let the rest of the world witness the beauty of Lake Como.

-There are ferry services along the western branch and northern end of the Lake (between Colico or Piona and Como town), with additional shuttles to the mid-lake area.
-Fast services that follow broadly the same route, but use faster hydrofoils, stop less frequently, and cost extra.
-Ferries that run only between the popular mid-lake villages of Menaggio, Bellagio, and Varenna, plus Cadenabbia. Some of these ferries carry vehicles as well as passengers. Lake Como weather can be humid but the lake stabilises the average daily temperatures range which are about 3-4C in January to 23-24C in July.
